It was great to see Dream Illusion get off the mark for the Karl Burke team at Wolverhampton yesterday, as she scored under promising apprentice Jack Nicholls.
The three-year-old daughter of Oasis Dream joined us late last year from the horses in training sales and has found her form gradually this term under the expert guidance of Karl Burke and his excellent team at Spigot Lodge.
She was hardly winning out of turn on her sixth start of the campaign as she was building on a solid placed effort on her previous start, which also came over the extended seven furlongs at Dunstall Park.
Well placed from an early stage, Dream Illusion was always travelling well and overcame minor interference at an important stage of the race to ultimately win narrowly but decisively for her delighted horse racing syndicate.
Her owners gave Dream a nice, warm welcome back into the winners enclosure as Jack Nicholls unsaddled and explained just how Dream had got off the mark, and what he thought might work well for her moving forwards.
Dream Illusion is a very big filly with lots of substance and the scope to do better as she strengthens into her ample frame.
It’s great to see her taking her training so well and progressing for her horse racing syndicate.
With this eye-catching win behind her, which earned the comment ‘sure to be of interest again’ from the form gurus at Timeform, Dream Illusion looks set to provide her owners with plenty more fun as the Flat season progresses this summer.
We look forward to seeing what Karl Burke has up his sleeve for her next as this upwardly mobile three-year-old filly continues her campaign.
