Director Of Racing

Simon, a professional handicapper with the Racing Post for over 20 years, is our Director Of Racing.

Winner of the Racing Post's coveted Flat Naps competition, Simon has also been a key member of the Racing Post Ratings National Press Challenge winning team several times, most recently in 2016 and 2017.

With a comprehensive knowledge of all facets of the Flat racing game, Simon is Hambleton Racing’s handicapping and race-planning advisor.

“The Group 1 win of £45,000 recruit Glen Shiel once again proved it's possible to compete in top races without spending a fortune. We’ve consistently enjoyed great success and I’m sure there is more to come."

Head Racing Manager

Cosmo is a Hambleton Racing director and founder member.

As you would expect, our Head Racing Manager boasts an in-depth knowledge of the form book and the overall industry in general.

Cosmo heads our team that will keep you bang up to date with events at the yard and on all the latest news with your horses.

“We’re committed to making racehorse ownership with Hambleton carefree, enjoyable and successful,” says Cosmo. “It’s a great sight watching our owners enjoying that winning feeling at the races.”

Racing Manager

Lizzy joined Hambleton Racing in 2015. She says she could ride a horse before she could walk.

She has a wealth of racing experience, riding winners as an amateur, and was a big part of the Dianne Sayer team before joining Hambleton.

A product of the prestigious BHA Graduate Programme, Lizzy often accompanies owners on stable visits and at the races. Lizzy is an integral part of our team, keeping owners up to date with all the latest news on their horses.

 

“It’s really enjoyable working with the friendly, progressive and successful team at Hambleton Racing,” says Lizzy. “I’m very lucky to spend a lot of time around our horses, owners and trainers, both at the stables and at the races.”

Owners' Area

Helen keeps owners bang up to date with their horses’ progress on the unique owners’ area of our website.

Helen, an integral part of the team, has a wealth of experience in the racing industry, both as a rider and from working in racing yards.

A qualified equine sports massage therapist, Helen enjoys looking after her two ex-racehorses, which compete in dressage and eventing, and playing and coaching netball in her spare time.

“I enjoy being part of the well-established team at Hambleton, providing owners with the best possible experience of the racing industry, whilst also getting involved with the horses at the stables and on the racecourse.”

Davina Vigors

Owner Liaison

Davina has a great deal of experience in the horse racing world.

A keen and experienced horse woman, Davina has been riding since an early age and often rides out at Archie Watson's Saxon Gate base in Lambourn.

Before joining Hambleton, Davina was a key part of Archie's office team for three years.

Davina helps keep the excellent owners area of our website up to date and often accompanies owners, both at the races and on private stable visits.

“It's a great privilege to be part of such a well established and accomplished syndicate. I'm looking forward to many successful seasons ahead.”

Owner Liaison

Maya had been in and around horses from a young age before developing a passion for racing.

Working within a racing yard, Maya gained plenty of hands-on experience of the industry before heading to Cirencester to study a degree in bloodstock at the Royal Agricultural University, where she achieved First Class Honours.

Maya, who enjoys weight lifting and ice skating in her spare time, worked for the Press Association before joining our friendly Owner Liaison team.

“I’m enjoying getting to know our owners and horses. I'm looking forward to sharing their journeys and plenty of success together.”

With a background in both engineering and art, Louise knows how a camera works and how to produce stunning pictures.

The beauty, flair and sheer exuberance of Louise’s shots really bring our horses to life.

As Hambleton Racing’s official photographer, Louise will ensure you get a professionally taken picture of your horse on your naming day.

Louise is a popular face on the racing scene, a highly respected professional photographer.
