Archie Watson

Trainer

In just his second full year of training, Hambleton Racing trainer Archie Watson saddled over a 100 winners, won prestigious Group races at Royal Ascot and enjoyed three Group 1 placed runners.

Archie’s huge training talent is well established now. Behind the outstanding results are hard-knocking, impressive facts – Archie’s career strike rate with his two-year-old runners is an incredible 19%.

Based at the historic Saxon Gate stables in Lambourn, wins big races with all types of horses and, crucially, does so with cheaply bought horses too.

Just look at the bargains we’ve sourced for our owners:

  • Glen Shiel (£45,000) – Group 1 Champions Sprint winner, won £500,000+
  • Outbox (16,000gns) – Group 1 Amir Trophy winner, won £500,000+
  • Maystar (€35,000) – winner in France (Listed) and Doha
  • Mehmento (£14,000) – Listed winner at Epsom’s Derby meeting
  • Tempus (25,000gns) – Two-time Group 3 winner

Working alongside Archie, our buying team have proved as good as anyone at the sales, regularly securing incredible bargains.

In 2020 £45,000 recruit Glen Shiel became Archie’s first Group 1 winner, scoring a memory-making for his owners on Champions Day at Ascot.

Our southern England horse racing syndicates have won races at Listed, Group 3, Group 2 and Group 1 level, all with horses bought for £45,000 or less, enjoying big winners abroad in Doha, France and Ireland.

Whether it’s the yearling sales, breeze-ups or horse in training sales, Archie provides breath-taking results like clockwork for our Lambourn horse racing syndicates.

Our Archie Watson syndicates are hugely popular and often over subscribed.
