Elements Of Fire strides out to win at Chelmsford for Hambleton Racing.

Elements Of Fire wins at Chelmsford

Elements Of Fire made it two wins from two starts for Archie Watson at Chelmsford on Saturday, much to the delight of his horse racing syndicate.

The four-year-old son of Too Darn Hot was identified by our buying team as a horse with both quality and potential and has quickly proved that assessment spot on.

Winning handicap debut under Hollie Doyle

Already a winner at Lingfield this year in novice company, Elements Of Fire was making his handicap debut at Chelmsford on Saturday and showed some admirable qualities to maintain his perfect start for his owners under the ever-impressive Hollie Doyle.

Breaking well from the stalls Hollie soon had Elements Of Fire at the head of affairs and was able to steady the tempo slightly after being forced to go quite quickly during the opening stages of the contest.

Entering the home straight Hollie’s rivals were queuing up to challenge but Elements Of Fire showed a commendable attitude to see off the closers and ensure a prefect start to his career in the Hambleton silks.

Trainer hints at shorter trip

After the race Hollie was understandably very pleased with Elements Of Fire, and got a great reception as she walked back into the winners enclosure.

Such moments highlight the essence of syndicate ownership, creating memories that last a lifetime for our owners — and explain why so many decide to buy racehorse shares with Hambleton Racing.

As Hollie debriefed his winning horse racing syndicate, she covered how she felt their improving four-year-old could have the speed to come back to sprinting on turf which could open up some interesting races for him on turf this year.

Trainer Archie Watson has once again showcased his skills with this 32,000gns purchase, who joined us with just two starts to his name.

He’s quickly matched that tally of runs and Archie is optimistic this interesting horse can be seen to good effect when dropping in trip.

Memories of a Hambleton legend

The prospect of a quality horses in training recruit dropping in trip is not a new concept for Hambleton horses based with Archie Watson.

The most famous example of all would be the mighty Glen Shiel, who arrived to us from horses in training sales as a quality performer over just beyond a mile.

Archie identified he had the speed to operate at shorter trips and the rest, as they say, is history.

Glen Shiel went on to win the Group 1 Champion Sprint at Ascot, giving Hollie Doyle her first Group 1 winner in the process.

Now no one is expecting Elements Of Fire to hit those staggering heights but with a Timeform rating of 99p after his latest winning exploits it’s clear that our buying team have once again sourced his owners a quality horse with which they can have a lot more fun this year and beyond.

We look forward to seeing how this most promising horse can progress from here.
