Port Light returns to the winners enclosure.

Light all class as he wins again

Our horse racing syndicate that own Port Light look to have a quality performer on their hands with Archie Watson after he routed his rivals at Chelmsford last night to make it two wins from three starts in his career to date.

The son of City Light looked all class as he won his second race, this time handing out a decisive beating to market rival Crack On Boys.

Winning moments like these are just a part of what makes our syndicate ownerships so special, and why so many existing and new owners decide to buy racehorse shares with Hambleton Racing.

Looking back on our latest impressive win for our owners, Port Light broke well under Hollie Doyle, and was soon leading the large field under in-form, excellent rider, with the rest of the runners strung out like washing in behind.

Travelling easily, and appearing to find the race very straight forward throughout, Hollie asked him to go on and win his race in the straight and the response was immediate and impressive, as Port Light galloped on strongly to come fully five lengths clear, with a yawning gap of fully 12 lengths back to the remainder of the field, who came home at wide intervals. An effort that screamed quality and one which understandably had his horse racing syndicate thrilled in the winners enclousre.

Many of Port Light’s horse racing syndicate were there to enjoy the moment on course as Hollie came in to unsaddle and report to owners just how impressed she’d been with the win of their horse and his overall performance.

This second win from just three starts marks Port Light down as a very nice horse indeed and it will be fascinating to see where trainer Archie Watson points him next.

The early signs from his master trainer are that his sights may be raised to a £100,000 Class 2 contest in early April back at Chelmsford racecourse next time out which would be very exciting for all owners involved.

In the meantime, his owners can reflect on another impressive performance from their most promising three-year-old, who built on his previous promise in no uncertain terms here on his first start under leading jockey Hollie Doyle.
