Owners’ Day so enjoyable

Smiles everywhere, a great atmosphere and lots of money raised for charity – the great day out that is Hambleton Racing’s Owners’ Day once again proved so enjoyable.

Our complimentary annual event at Doncaster is always hugely popular with owners and the Hambleton team alike as we come together to eat, drink and be merry within fabulous facilities.

Since launching our first syndicate nearly 20 years ago, we've prided ourselves on making everyone welcome and getting to know each owner as an individual.

Racing expert, you’re welcome. Racing novice, you’re welcome. Shy but enjoy you’re racing, you’re welcome. Enjoy a drink and a laugh, you’re welcome.

We could go on, but no one day encapsulates what Hambleton are about more than our Owners’ Day, as so many different people come together to enjoy a memorable day together.

The firm favourite in the Hambleton social calendar, held at Doncaster's Lincoln meeting, saw owners take up the best seats in the house as they enjoyed welcome drinks and were greeted by the Hambleton team.

In next to no time there was a great atmosphere in the box as guests consulted the table plan, and began to look forward to the day ahead.

Many guests remarked on the impressive display near the entrance of the box, featuring champagne, and an array of gifts and charity prizes.

Our Director Of Racing, Simon, soon took to the microphone to offer owners a warm welcome to the box as he introduced the Hambleton team to owners and passed on news from our trainers before welcoming guest speak Andrew Thornton to the stage.

Andrew told owners a little of his story in racing before offering his guidance on a typically competitive card.

Those who followed Andrew’s advice were well rewarded with Andrew finding winners at 6-1 and 5-2, as our star guest proved a profitable tipster as well as being very entertaining.

Our owners have proved hugely generous over the years with tens of thousands raised for charity and once again generously supported our fund raising for long-term charity partner, Racing Welfare, raising over £4,200 for this vital charity, who Hambleton are proud to support.

The quality of the complimentary catering was excellent and proved very popular as owners relaxed, laughed and looked back on our many recent winners and ahead to what promises to be another exciting season on the racecourse.

On a memorable day, it was great to see new friendships being formed and established friends sharing a great afternoon in an enjoyable, informal and welcoming environment as our horse racing syndicate owners created a great atmosphere.

It was notable just how many owners talked about meeting up with former friends and contacts from past syndicates on a day when many new owners got their first taste of what owning a racehorse means with Hambleton.

On behalf of the Hambleton team, we’d like to say a big thank you to all our owners, not only for all the kind words about the day but also for helping make the day the big success it was.

We’ve been inundated with kind messages since the Doncaster Owners’ Day. It’s great to hear that so many of our owners had a wonderful time and humbling to receive so much genuine gratitude for organising one of our favourite days of the year.

The task now is to make sure next year’s event is even better!
