Winner - Inner Temple

Temple’s perfect start

The New Year got off to the perfect start for Inner Temple’s owners at Wolverhampton this evening as their three-year-old made his third start a winning one.

The imposing son of Inns Of Court had shaped really well on his debut over six furlongs late last year and built on that form here with a fluent success, making all the running under the recently returned Hollie Doyle.

Hollie, who has been racing abroad in Japan until recently, has made the perfect start to the New Year herself, this being her third winner of the opening two days of 2024.

Here Hollie was seen to typically good effect, bouncing Inner Temple out early to dominate his field.

The response she got from her mount when asked turning in was pretty impressive, as he motored clear in the short home straight to win decisively, to the evident delight on his horse racing syndicate, a couple of whom shared a word with the legendary ‘Sir’ Robert Cooper on Sky Sports Racing in the winners’ enclosure afterwards.

Archie expects this lovely, still rather raw horse to improve plenty as the season progresses and is likely to give him a little time to develop now he has got his first win under his belt.

Hollie was very complimentary about Inner Temple afterwards and his horse racing syndicate certainly look to have a nice, progressive three-year-old on their hands. It was great to see them enjoying the moment and a glass of champagne afterwards.

Given his imposing size, it seems likely this good looking three-year-old can continue to give his owners plenty of fun moving forwards as Inner Temple bids to maintain his progressive profile and this perfect start to 2024.

In due course, we look forward to seeing where Archie targets this progressive three-year-old next!
