Gale Force Ten colt

Kevin Ryan’s record with his two-year-olds is quite spectacular with Kevin saddling Group or Listed juvenile winners in eleven of the last twelve years, enjoying a huge amount of success, right up to the top level.

Many of Kevin’s Group race winners joined him from the yearling sales and Kevin has shown time and again an uncanny ability to produce decent horses from the yearling sales without breaking the bank.

He fought off some notable interest in this colt to secure him and feels he’s a ready-made two-year-old for next year.

This time last year Kevin sourced us a good-looking young horse by a first-season sire called Magic Jazz who has gone to do well for his owners, winning two races, including the final of a valuable nursery, earning over £18,000.

Bought for just €15,000, he is due to be sold at the end of the month at the Horses In Training Sales and is expected to return a handsome profit for his owners.

The colt’s sire Gale Force Ten was a Group 1 two-year-old who finished second in an Irish Classic before winning at Royal Ascot. Over the past 15 years Kevin has enjoyed an unbelievable level of success when purchasing first-season sires for us with every yearling by a freshman going on to win races for their owners.

Kevin loved this colt at the sales in Ireland, describing him as a fluid moving, well put together colt with an excellent mind.

Qualified for the Plus10 Bonus scheme, he’ll also be targeted at the sales races such as the Weatherbys Super Sprint and Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy.

Bearing in mind Kevin’s comments and his strike rate with first-season sires for us, this colt, in which we have just three shares left, looks highly likely to prove an exciting young horse for his owners to enjoy.
