DC Flyer win

Flyer’s winning nursery debut

23rd July 2023

There were some big smiles on show at Hamilton on Saturday night as DC Flyer made a winning nursery debut.

Kevin Ryan had the son of Washington DC looking a picture in the paddock ahead of the race but he was rather discounted by the Scottish punters, who allowed him to go off at tasty double-figure odds despite there only being four runners.

Tom Eaves bounced DC Flyer out of the gates smartly and the pair always looked likely to play a big hand after that, travelling well throughout.

As the race really started to develop DC showed a great attitude under Tom to find more for pressure and repel the well-backed favourite to the delight of his horse racing syndicate, who gave Tom and DC a good hand as they returned to the winners enclosure.

Tom was very complimentary about DC Flyer's winning nursery debut, feeling he showed a great attitude and was a tough sort who will win more races for his owners.

The replay looked good over a glass of champagne as his horse racing syndicate reflected on his first success and looked forward to what may be to come for their improving next.

We look forward to seeing how this well-bred youngster can develop under the excellent guidance of Kevin Ryan.
