Frankie a Watchable fan

Wednesday was a great day for Watchable’s owners as their pride and joy gained another fan in the shape of none other than Frankie Dettori.

The irrepressible Italian has been in outstanding form in the saddle this year, winning Group 1 after Group 1 and was in great form in the paddock ahead of the opening race of York’s Ebor Festival, posing for pictures and having a laugh with Watchable’s owners before the race.

With the fun behind them in the paddock Frankie got down to business and after sitting aboard Watchable for the first time partnered him down to the start in the 22-strong field.

With three wins and any number of fine efforts in defeat on this year’s cv Watchable’s owners were expecting a bold show and weren’t disappointed as the old boy gave Frankie a great spin, the pair finishing fifth, beaten just one-and-a-half lengths by winner Dakota Gold in a great finish.

It is fair to say Frankie thoroughly enjoyed the ride on Watchable who he thought had ran a blinder, reporting him to be a great ride, who was brave in defeat.

We’re pleased that Watchable’s ever-growing fan club has such an illustrious new member. The fact Frankie is another Watchable fan makes a great deal of sense to us – we all think he’s amazing.

The old boy has come out of his latest fine run and is highly likely to be out and racing at a big meeting again soon.
