Hambleton at GYS2018

16th July 2018

It’s been a fun and interesting week for Hambleton as aside the usual busy nature of Summer Flat racing week we have enjoyed our second ever week at the Great Yorkshire Show.

The hugely successful show were expecting to welcome in the region of 130,000 visitors to last week’s event and whilst we can’t confirm that figure it was certainly very busy!

Hambleton Racing’s Lizzy Butterworth did a superb job putting together our stand which featured the chance to not only find out a whole lot more about Hambleton but also to ride Lightning the equicizer.

Lizzy was joined by Helen Kinsella and the girls were delighted to welcome several Hambleton owners to sample some typical HR hospitality.

However, the real draw was the equicizer which drew plenty of attention, both from those keen to get aboard and push, and also passers-by, who would regularly stop and watch for a while those of all ages had a go.

Amongst the riders were some well known names from the weighing room with John Kington one of a number of riders to given a riding display to the gallery.

All in all we enjoyed a great week meeting some really interesting people and, hopefully, introducing a few new people to riding and racing.

We’ve received some very kind comments from many guests and also some of the management team behind the Great Yorkshire Show and certainly hope to return again next year.
