Sheriff makes it three from four
20th April 2019
The progressive Whoshotthesheriff made it three wins from four starts for his delighted owners today at Carlisle.
The son of Dylan Thomas has looked a quality individual from the moment he set foot on the racecourse in the beige and blue and once again travelled with consummate ease throughout.
Few horses are good enough to defy a double penalty but Whoshotthesheriff never looked in much danger of defeat as he climbed the Carlisle hill, with jockey Sean Quinlan, who once again handled him superbly, looking round for dangers after the last.
The five-year-old travels well and has a fine leap in him. Down the line he’s going to make a smashing chaser but also looks the sort of horse with the scope to do really well over hurdles in his second season hurdling.
We’d like to take this chance to say a huge well done to all the Sheriff’s owners, many of whom were in attendance at Carlisle to enjoy the moment.
Also a word for the Phil Kirby, who was in typically great form with owners as everyone enjoyed the moment. Phil has now saddled Hambleton's owners three runners. With two wins and a place to date, it's a fair to say he's not made a bad start!
We’ll have more reaction and pictures from Sheriff’s latest win online soon.
